Our client are a Special Education School and College based in Hampshire. They provide young people with physical disabilities with education, care, therapy, medical support and independence training.


They are recruiting for a highly specialist Occupational Therapist to join their enthusiastic, supportive and skilled team.  


As Occupational Therapist, you will manage a small, defined caseload of students, with complex physical, sensory and learning disabilities. You will demonstrate clinical reasoning, analysis and problems solving throughout the process.


Key duties of the Occupational Therapist will include;



  • Carry out and record comprehensive, highly specialise assessments of occupational needs using a variety of assessment tools

  •  Identify, implement and evaluate treatment plans using advance and highly specialised interventions where appropriate

  • Carry out manual handling assessments with students in conjunction with staff

  • Assess, support an advise students on specialised mobility equipment and seating, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team   

  • Assess and advise students regarding eating and drinking in conjunction with multidisciplinary team

  • Enable students to develop the skills needed for transition from School/College to higher education, the workplace, home and community


In order to be considered for this Occupational Therapist position you will have the following;


Essential skills;



  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy

  • HPC Registration

  • Evidence of CPD

  • Post Graduate training or evidence of in depth experience in the field of paediatrics and neurological/physical disabilities

  • Ability to work flexible hours

  • Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
